ब्ल्याकमेलिङ : साइबर अपराध अब अदालतमा

मुलुकमा साइबर अपराधसम्बन्धी कानुन निर्माण भएपछि उक्त कानुनलाई टेकेर न्यायालयसमक्ष पुगेको वीरगन्जको एउटा मुद्दा अहिले चर्चाको बिषय बनेको छ । साइबर अपराधका आरोपी एक युवक भदौ २३ गते पर्सा जिल्ला अदालतमा १ लाख ३० हजार रुपैयाँ धरौटी राखेर सामान्य तारेखमा छुटेका छन् । मुलुककै नौलो खालको तथा सम्भवतः पहिलो यो मुद्दाका आरोपी वीरगन्ज उपमहानगरपालिका-२, छपकैंयाका शैफ भनिने जहाँगिर आलम पर्सा जिल्ला न्यायाधीश विष्णुप्रसाद कोइरालाको आदेशमा धरौटी लिई तारेखमा रिहा भएका हुन् ।

२७ वषर्ीय जहाँगिरविरुद्ध वीरगन्जकै एक युवती रमा -नाम परिवर्तन) ले असार २ गते जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय पर्सामा साइबर अपराध मुद्दाको किटानी जाहेरी दर्ता गरेकी थिइन् । ती युवतीले आफ्नो सेक्स टेपलाई जहाँगिरले इन्टरनेटका विभिन्न साइटमा राखेको तथा त्यसको सिडीसमेत बनाई बजारमा सार्वजनिक गरेको आरोप लगाएकी छिन् । गत जेठ २३ गते युट्युबलगायत विभिन्न अश्लील पोर्नसाइटमा ती युवतीसमेत सरिक सेक्सक्लिप राखिएको थियो ।

चरणबद्ध रूपमा दुई थरीका क्लिप इन्टरनेट साइटमा राखिएका थिए । तेस्रो क्लिप भने सिडीका रूपमा बजारमा आएको थियो । आगोझैं फैलिएको वीरगन्जसँग सम्बन्धित उक्त सेक्स टेप प्रकरण पछि जहाँगिर फरार भएका थिए । उनी एकैपटक अदालतमा उपस्थित भएका हुन् ।

युवतीले विवाहपूर्व आफ्नो प्रेमसम्बन्ध जहाँगिरसँग रहेको र त्यसै क्रममा उनीसँग राखिएको शारीरिक सम्बन्धको तस्बिर मोबाइलको क्यामेराबाट छायांकन गरी इन्टरनेट वेबसाइट तथा सिडीमार्फत सावर् जनिक गरिएको दाबी गरेकी छिन् । उक्त मुभीलाई जहाँगिरले एमएमएस तथा सिडी बनाई सार्वजनिक रूपमा बिक्री-वितरणसमेत गरेर आफूलाई हदैसम्मको ब्ल्याकमेलिङ गर्ने काम गरेको रमाले बताएकी छिन् । युवतीको माइती तथा घर दुवै पक्षका व्यक्तिहरूको नामै उल्लेख गरेर उक्त सेक्स प्रकरण सार्वजनिक भएपछि उनको माइती र घर दुवै पक्षले सामाजिक रूपमा ठूलो अपहेलना भोग्नुपर्‍यो । भारतमा उनको घर पक्ष आफू बस्दै आएको सहरबाट बसाइँ सरिसकेको छ ।

जहाँगिरले आफूसँग पटक-पटक शारीरिक सम्पर्क राख्न धम्की र दबाब दिएको तर आफूले नमान्दा उक्त मुभीको सिडी आफ्ना श्रीमान्को घर तथा माइतीमा पठाई आफ्नो बेइज्जती गरेको दाबी जाहेरीमा गरिएको छ । उक्त सेक्स टेप प्रकरणपछि आफ्ना बुबा पक्षघात भै हिडडुल गर्न नसकी अपाहिज भैसकेको तथा बहिनीहरू घरबाट बाहिर निस्कन नसकेको उनले आफ्नो जाहेरीमा उल्लेख गरेकी छिन् । हाल श्रीमान्ले आफूलाई बहिष्कार गरी माइतीमा छाडी गएको अवस्थामा समेत जहाँगिरले आफूलाई पटक-पटक धम्की दिइरहेको उनले आरोप लगाएकी छिन् । रमाले जहाँगिरसँग आफ्नो मित्रता एवं प्रेमसम्बन्ध एक कम्प्युटर इन्स्िटच्युटमा कम्प्युटर सिक्ने क्रममा भएको बताएकी छिन् । जहाँगिरले त्यस क्रममा आफूलाई नशालु पदार्थ ख्वाएर शारीरिक सम्पर्क राखेको तथा त्यसको तस्बिर खिचेको दाबी गरेकी छिन् । उक्त मुभी वीरगन्जकै छपकैयातिर खिचिएको हुन सक्ने उनको अनुमान छ ।

अविवाहित जहाँगिरले अदालतमा बयानका क्रममा आफूले हालसम्म रमासँग भेटघाट नगरेको र उनीसँग आफ्नो कुनै पनि खालको मित्रता तथा सम्बन्ध नरहेको बताएका छन् । रमाले जाहेरीमा आफूउपर लगाएका आरोप पूर्ण रूपले झूटो र निराधार भएको उनको जिकिर छ । जहाँगिरले आफूले कक्षा ८ सम्म मात्र पढेको र रमासँग कुनै सम्बन्ध र सरोकार नभएकाले उनी संलग्न सिडी तथा सेक्स क्लिप आफूले सार्वजनिक नगरेको जिकिर गरेका छन् ।

जिल्ला सरकारी वकिलको कार्यालयले जिल्ला अदालतमा उक्त मुद्दा प्रस्तुत गर्दै जहाँगिरले विद्युतिय -इलेक्ट्रोनिक) कारोबार ऐन २०६३ को दफा ४७-१) अनुसारको कसुर अपराध गरेकाले उनलाई हदैसम्मको सजायको माग गरेको छ । सरकारी वकिलको कार्यालयको अभियोगपत्रमा जहाँगिरले सामाजिक जातीय सद्भाव बिगार्ने, कसैप्रति घृणा वा द्वेष फैल्याउने वा विभिन्न जातजाति तथा साम्प्रदायिक सुमधुर सम्बन्ध खलल पार्ने कार्य गरेकाले उनलाई सजायको माग गरेको छ ।

न्यायाधीश कोइरालाको इजलासले थुनछेक प्रयोजनको बहसपछिको आदेशमा 'आरोपित जहाँगिर कसुरदार देखिए पनि निजलाई अदालती बन्दोबस्त ११८-२) अनुसार थुनामा राख्नुपर्ने अवस्था नदेखिएकाले पछि प्रमाण बुझ्दै जादा ठहरेबमोजिम हुने गरी निज प्रतिवादीबाट अदालती बन्दोबस्तको ११८-५) समेतको आधारमा धरौटी लिई मुद्दाको पुर्पक्ष गर्ने' भनी उल्लेख छ ।

रमाका कानुन व्यवसायी अधिवक्ता सुधीर कर्णले अधिराज्यमै सम्भवतः कुनै पनि न्यायिक निकायमा दर्ता गरिएको सबैभन्दा पहिलो यस्तो खालको मुद्दामा आफूले चाहेर पनि बहस पैरवी गर्न नपाएको बताए । आफू कामविशेषले हेटौंडामा रहेको र रमालाई समेत उक्त मुद्दाको पेसी बुधबार परेको कुराको जानकारी नहुँदा अत्यन्त कम समयमा अदालती कारबाही सम्पन्न भएको उनले बताए । उनले सूचना र प्रविधिको वर्तमान युगमा यस्ता खाले मुद्दामा इजलासमै भिडियो, कम्प्युटर आदि राखेर न्याय निरूपण गर्न सकिने अवस्था विद्यमान हुँदाहँुदै पनि त्यसो नगरिएको गुनासो गरे । उनले प्रहरीले यो मुद्दामा गम्भीर रूपमा अनुसन्धान गर्न सक्ने अवस्था हुँदाहँुदै पनि त्यसो नभएको बताए । आरोपी एक्लैले उक्त टेप बनाउने, एडिटिङ गर्ने र वेबसाइटमा हाल्नेसम्मको काम गर्न नसक्ने अवस्था रहेको र उक्त कार्यमा कम्तीमा तीन-चार जनाको समूह लागिपरेको निश्चित हुँदाहँुदै पनि जहाँगिर एक्लैलाई अभियुक्त बनाउनु प्रहरी अनुसन्धानमा रहेको कमजोरीको प्रमाण भएको उनको आरोप छ । प्रहरी उपरीक्षक राजेन्द्रमान श्रेष्ठ भने यो मुद्दा हालसम्मकै अत्यन्त नौलो र जटिलसमेत भएकाले प्रहरीले अत्यन्त गम्भीरतापूर्वक लिएको जिकिर गर्छन् । उनले व्यापक अनुसन्धानपछि मात्र प्रहरीले सरकारी वकिलको कार्यालयमा मुद्दा पेस गरेको बताए ।

यता जिल्ला सरकारी वकिलको कायर्ालय जहाँगिरलाई धरौटीमा छाडने जिल्ला अदालतको आदेशविरुद्ध पुनरावेदन अदालत हेटौंडामा पुनरावेदन गर्ने तयारीमा जुटेको कार्यालय स्रोतले बताएको छ । विवाहअघिको प्रेमसम्बन्ध र त्यस क्रममा भएका गतिविधिका कारण अनपेक्षित नतिजा बेहोरेकी रमा हाल बिस्तारै उक्त घटनाजनित सामाजिक अपहेलना, लाञ्छनाबाट आफूलाई सम्हाल्ने क्रममा छिन् । घरबाट बहिष्कृत भैसकेकी उनले अकल्पनीय घटना बेहोरेको र आफ्ना कारण माइती पक्ष पनि ठूलो पीडाको सिकार भएकाले आफू अत्यन्त दुःखित भएको बताएकी छिन् । यद्यपि रमाले पहाडजस्तो लामो जीवनलाई त्यत्तिकै घरमा बसेर खेर नफाल्ने मनस्थिति बनाएकी छिन् । विवाहका कारण आफ्नो उच्च शिक्षा अवरुद्ध भएकाले अब उच्च शिक्षालाई निरन्तरता दिने र स्वावलम्बी बन्न चाहेको उनी बताउँछिन्, तर यो कुरा समाजले सकारात्मक सहयोग र समर्थन गरिदिए मात्र सम्भव भएको कुरा उनलाई थाहा छ । कुनै सहृदयी संघसंस्थाले आफूलाई पुनर्जीवन दिने पहल गरे आफू त्यसका लागि तयार रहेको पनि उनको भनाइ छ । टेप प्रकरणको पात्र आफू एक्लै नभई आफूलाई बदनाम गर्ने युवक पनि उत्तिकै जिम्मेवार भएकाले पितृसत्तात्मक समाजले आफूलाई मात्र दोषी बनाइरहेको उनको गुनासो छ । समाजमा यस्ता क्रियाकलाप गर्ने पुरुष पनि उत्तिकै दोषी हुनुपर्ने र उसको सामाजिक बहिष्कार गर्न सक्नुपर्ने उनको भनाइ छ ।

यसअघि एक गायक तथा हास्यकलाकारको यस्तै खाले टेप सार्वजनिक हुँदा हालको ऐन बनिनसकेकाले उनलाई गाली बेइज्जती ऐनअनुसार कारबाही चलाइएको अधिवक्ता कर्ण बताउँछन् । त्यसैगरी चर्चित दुई मोडल तथा नायिका यस्तै खालका दुई फरक प्रकरणमा चर्चामा आए पनि उनीहरूले कुनै कानुनी उपचार खोजेनन् ।

वीरगन्जका लागि पनि यस्तो घटना पहिलो भने होइन । यसअघि पनि वीरगन्ज स्थानीय घर भएका एक अन्र्तराष्ट्रिय खेलाडीको भिडियो क्लिप्स सार्वजनिक भएको थियो । स्थानीय एक महिलासँगको उनको उक्त टेपले पनि आगाको झिल्कासरह चर्चा बटुलेको थियो । आधुनिकतासँगै बढ्दो साइबर अपराध यहाँका युवा पुस्ता र उनीहरूका अभिभावकका लागि पनि चिन्ताको विषय बन्दै गएको छ । फलस्वरूप साइबर अपराधसम्बन्धी कानुनलाई अझ बढी प्रभावकारी र बलियो बनाउनुपर्ने धारणा अधिकांश अभिभावकको छ ।

२० पचाउन गाह्रो हुने नेपाली फिल्मका सीनहरु

१. ठोक्किएर किताब खस्ने
दुर्घटना राजमार्गमा मात्र हुँदैन। नेपाली फिल्मको कलेजमा पनि हुन्छ। त्यहाँ हिरोहिरोइनले एकआपसमा ठक्कर खाइरहन्छन्। धेरै फिल्ममा यस्तो दुर्घटना भइसकेको छ। हिरोहिरोइन ठोक्किन्छन् र हिरो वा हिरोइनका किताब भुइँमा छरपस्टिन्छ। ‘ओह सरी’ भन्दै किताब टिप्ने काम हुन्छ। त्यतिबेला फेरि टाउको पनि ठोक्किनसक्छ।

२. हिरो हिरोइन टोलाइरहने
हिरोहिरोइन एकअर्कालाई देख्दा मुग्ध भएर टोलाउन थाल्छन्। दायाँबायाँ को-को छन् उनीहरूलाई मतलब हुँदैन। एकनाशले आँखा जुधाउँदै हराउँछन्। सँगैका साथीहरूले उनीहरूका आँखाअगाडि हत्केला हल्लाउँदा पनि ‘ध्यान’ भंग हुँदैन।
३. गाउँका हिरोइनले झरनामै नुहाउने
गाउँकी हिरोइन यति निर्धक्क हुन्छे कि नुहाउनलाई ऊ जंगलबीचको अप्ठ्यारो झरनामा पुग्छे। घरमै नुहाउन उसलाई मन लाग्दैन। किनभने त्यसो गर्दा उसको ‘जवानी’ प्रदर्शन हुँदैन। जसरी हुन्छ, सहरबाट आएको हिरोले देख्ने गरी उसलाई झरनामा गएर नुहाउनैपर्छ।
४. हिरोइनको सल हिरोको हातमा
हिरोइनको जवानीमाथि भिलेनको गिद्धेनजर पर्छ। उसले निकै प्रपञ्च रच्दै हिरोइनलाई कब्जामा लिन्छ। त्यतिबेला हिरोइनले सल भएको लुगा अनिवार्य लगाएकी हुन्छे। भिलेनले सललाई तानेर हावामा हुर्‍र्याइदिन्छ। सल हावामा तैरिँदै झर्छ र हिरोको हातमा पर्छ। त्यसपछि रामधुलाइ।
५. सुत्नअघि दूध पिउने
नेपाली हिरो त्यसै बलियो भएको होइन। ऊ सुत्नअघि नियमित दूध पिउँछ। उसलाई कि आमाले दूध पिलाउँछ कि हिरोइनले। उसले दूध सधैं पारदर्शी गिलासमा पिउँछ। हिरोइन वा आमा पात्रले पारदर्शी गिलासमा दूध लिएको दृश्य छ भने, त्यो हिरोकै लागि हो भने बुझे हुन्छ।
६. बाँकी कुरा अँध्यारोमा
हिरोहिरोइनको समागमको दृश्य देखाउन नेपाली फिल्मले पुरानै विम्ब प्रयोग गर्न छोडेको छैन। ओछ्यानमा पल्टन्छन् र बत्ती निभाउँछन्। बाँकी कुरा अँध्यारोमा। नयाँ प्रतीकात्मक दृश्य सिर्जना गर्ने जाँगर किन नपलाएको हो? बुझ्न गाह्रो छ।
७. खोलामा खस्ने, स्मृति गुम्ने
खोलामा खस्दा लास बेपत्ता हुनुपर्ने हो। तर, नेपाली फिल्ममा त्यस्तो हुँदैन। खोलामा खसेको पात्र हतपत मर्दैन, उसलाई कुनै अनजान ठाउँका मान्छेहरूले उद्धार गरिदिन्छन्। बरु, उसको स्मृति चाहिँ गुम्नसक्छ। त्यसरी गुमेको होश फिर्ता हुन डाक्टर चाहिँदैन, त्यस्तै कुनै ठूलो घटना घटे पुग्छ।
८. गाउँलेलाई बाटो काट्न समस्या
कुनै गाउँले पात्र सहर आयो भने उसलाई सबैभन्दा बढी समस्या केमा हुन्छ? नेपाली फिल्म हेर्नुस्, यसको जवाफ पाइनेछ। गाउँलेलाई सहरमा बाटो काट्न निकै समस्या हुन्छ। गाउँलेहरूकै लागि भनेर सहरमा आकाशे पुल बनाइएको हो कि जस्तो लाग्छ।
९. गरिबलाई अप्रेसन महँगो
गरिबलाई पैसा अभावले पक्कै सताउँछ। पैसा खट्टे पर्ने कारण थुप्रै हुनसक्छन्। नेपाली फिल्ममा भने अपरेसन गर्न गरिब हिरोलाई पैसा खाँचो परेको देखाइन्छ। हिरोको कोही आफन्त इमरजेन्सीमा भर्ती हुन पुग्छ र डाक्टरले हजारौं वा लाखौं रकम तुरुन्त ल्याएमात्र अप्रेसन गर्छु भन्छ।
१०. मर्ने बेला लामो संवाद बोल्ने
कुनै जटिल रोगले वा गोली लागेर घाइते भएका पात्रले सबैजना भेला भएको बेला लामो संवाद बोल्न थाल्यो भने निश्चित भए हुन्छ, ऊ मर्दैछ। अरू पात्रहरू पनि एम्बुलेन्स बोलाएर अस्पताल लैजानुको सट्टा त्यो संवाद सुनेर बस्छन्, मानौ प्राणभन्दा पनि कुरा फुत्किएला भन्ने चिन्ता उनीहरूलाई छ।
११. हातको वस्तु झर्ने
आफ्नो प्रिय व्यक्तिको मृत्यु देख्दा वा त्यसबारे सुन्दा नेपाली फिल्मका पात्रहरू शिथिल बन्नपुग्छन्। त्यतिबेला उनीहरूका हातमा भएका गिलास, किस्ती, औषधी वा पैसा सबै खस्छ। नेपाली फिल्ममा यस्तो दृश्य खिचिँदा कति सिसी फुटे, दूध पोखे वा औषधी बगे कुनै लेखाजोखा छैन।
१२. कसैको मृत्युमा प्रहरीले टोपी खोल्ने
फिल्ममा कुनै प्रिय पात्रको निधन हुँदा रुवाबासी चल्छ। वरिपरि झुम्मिएकाहरूले आ-आफ्नै पाराले प्रतिक्रिया व्यक्त गर्छन्। प्रहरीले भने अफसोच मान्दै टोपी खोल्छ। श्रद्धा गर्नुपर्ने मान्छे मर्दा प्रहरीले टोपी खोल्छ भन्ने सायद धेरै जसोले नेपाली फिल्म हेरेरै थाहा पाएका होलान्।
१३. भाँडाकुडा बाहिर फ्याल्ने
नेपाली फिल्मका ‘सामन्ती’ले ऋण असुल गर्ने तरिका अनौठो छ। भाका नाधेपछि ऊ आफ्नो दलबलसहित ऋणीको घर पुग्छ र केटाहरूलाई भाँडाकुडा बाहिर फ्याँक्न हुकुम दिन्छ। ऋणीले त्यतिबेला निकै रोइकराइ गर्छ, खुट्टा ढोग्छ। तर, उसको मन पग्लिदैन। सायद यस्तो ‘बिचल्ली’मा रमाउने आदत उसलाई लागिसकेको छ।
१४. मान्छेको विष बिरालोलाई
विष खुवाएर हिरोलाई मार्नु छ भने फिल्ममा दूधकै सहारा लिइन्छ। षड्यन्त्रकारीले खुसुक्क दूधमा विष मिसाइदिन्छ। तर, हिरोको भाग्य कति दह्रो हुन्छ भने त्यस्तो दूध कसोकसो गरी भुइँमा पोखिनपुग्छ। र, अचानक बिरालो आएर खाइदिन्छ। मान्छेको विष बिरालोले खाएको दृश्य कस्तो हुन्छ, नेपाली फिल्म खोजीखोजी हेर्नुहोला।
१५. गोप्य कुरा सुन्ने
सासु र नन्द मिलेर षड्यन्त्र बुन्दै गरेको बुहारीले सुन्छे। एउटा पात्र क्यान्सर रोगी हुन्छ र उसको केही महिनापछि मृत्यु निश्चित छ। तर, यो कुरा उसलाई कसैले भन्दैन। अरूले अर्कै कोठामा कुरा गर्दा उसले सुन्न पुग्छ। यसरी सुन्न नहुने वा सुनाउन नखोजिएको कुरा नेपाली फिल्मका पात्रहरूले सुटुक्क सुनिहाल्छ।
१६. अपहरण
हिरोलाई आफ्नो मुठ्ठीमा ल्याउन भिलेनले प्रयोग गर्ने अन्तिम उपाय हो, अपहरण। हिरोइन वा हिरोका परिवारलाई अपहरण गरी आफ्नो अखडामा बाँधिदिएपछि हिरो जसरी पनि आइपुग्छ भन्ने विश्वास भिलेनको हुन्छ। नभन्दै हिरो निरीह बन्दै आइपुग्छ। समाजमा भन्दा बढी अपहरण हुन्छ नेपाली फिल्ममा।
१७. भिलेन आफैले कुरा ओकल्ने
हिरोलाई कसैको हत्याको गलत आरोप लागेको हुन्छ। हिरोइनलाई पनि चोरीको आरोप लाग्छ। हिरोको बुबालाई कसले हत्या गरेको हो, थाहा हुँदैन। यो कुराले हिरोलाई पनि आपत परेको हुन्छ। तर, अन्तिममा हिरोलाई भिलेनले नै आरोपमुक्त बनाइदिन्छ। हिरोको सबै खान्दान खत्तम हुने भो भन्दै उसले सबैका अगाडि आफ्नो अपराध एकपछि अर्को गर्दै ओकलिदिन्छ।
१८. फाइटमा नारी पात्र बेहोश हुने
हिरो र भिलेन पक्षबीच फाइट भइरहँदा निर्देशकलाई हिरोइन र अरू नारी पात्र झन्झट हुनपुग्छ। यो झन्झटबाट मुक्त हुने तरिका पनि उनीहरूले जानेका छन्। भिलेनसँग झागलझुगल हुँदा हुत्तिएर ढुंगा वा भित्तामा ठोक्काई बेहोश बनाइदिने। त्यसरी बेहोश भएका नारी पात्रहरू फाइट सिद्धिएपछि मात्र ब्युँझिन्छे।
१९. अरूको गोली आफ्नो छातीमा थाप्ने
कुनै पात्र मर्नु छ वा पश्चातापको आगोमा जलेको छ भने उसको मृत्यु बडो नाटकीय हुन्छ। हिरो, हिरोइन वा अरू कुनै महत्वपूर्ण पात्रमाथि प्रहार गरिएको गोली आफ्नो छातीमा थाप्दै उसले मृत्युवरण गर्छ। त्रिकोणात्मक प्रेमकथा भयो भने एउटा जगेडा पात्र हिरो होस् वा हिरोइन, उसको नियति यस्तै हुने सम्भावना बढी छ।
२०. सबै सिद्धिएपछि प्रहरी
हिरो र भिलेनबीच भीषण लडाइँ हुन्छ। दुवै पक्षका थुप्रै पात्रको निधन हुन्छ। अन्तिममा हिरोले मुख्य भिलेनलाई मार्न लागेको बेला प्रहरी आइपुग्छ। भुइँमा लडेका ‘भुसतिघ्रे’हरू र भिलेनलाई पत्रे्कर लैजान्छ। प्रहरीमाथि जनविश्वास घट्नुको कारण फिल्मको यही पाराले पनि हो कि!

गत शुक्रबारदेखि प्रदर्शनमा आएको हिन्दि चलचित्र ‘दबंग’ले हिरारत्नमा त्यति धेरै दर्शक नपाएपछि अकस्मात सोमबार बिहानदेखि शुक्रबारदेखिनै प्रदर्शनमा आएको नेपाली चलचित्र ‘पलपलमा’ पर्दर्शन गर्ने निर्णय गरियो । तर सो समयमा भने ‘दबंग’नै प्रदर्शन भयो ।
‘पलपलमा’ चलाउने भनिएपनि सो चलचित्रको लागी एकजना पनि दर्शक नआएपछि सो समयमा करिव दश जनाको माग रहेको ‘दबंग’ प्रदर्शन गरिएको ‘पलपलमा’का बितरक सुनिल मानन्धरले बताउनुभयो ।
आईतबार चाबहिलमा रहेको गोपिकृष्ण मूभिजमा राम्रै दर्शक पाएको ‘पलपलमा’ले हिन्दि चलचित्र ‘दबंग’ले भन्दा राम्रो ब्यापार गर्ने अपेक्षा सहित प्रदर्शनको निधो गरिएको थियो ।

Aamir keen to market his movies in Europe

Aamir Khan's frequent visits to Europe had put everyone under the impression that he was on an extended holiday. But the truth is, Aamir is neck deep in work. He is busy with his home production Peepli Live and doesn't want to leave anything to chance.

Peepli Live, directed by Anusha Rizvi, is the fourth film being produced by Aamir - Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na were the other three - and he has been meeting the heads of various production and distribution houses.

The actor is keen to set up a new distribution pipeline that could be used for his future films as well. While there is already a huge audience abroad for Hindi films, there is a sizeable segment that loves watching world cinema. These films are specially distributed and watched in specific art-house theatres that don't generally release Hindi films. When Aamir realised this, he travelled across Europe to check out the market there for his films. A source says: "During his first visit, Aamir received a very encouraging response. That's when he decided to explore the market further." Peepli Live, which is Anusha's debut directorial venture, is a satire on the farmers' suicides and the subsequent media and political response. Well, here is hoping Aamir shines in Europe as well.

The Kites Music Review

It’s been four years since the father-son duo of Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan wowed us with their sci-fi thriller Krrish. Now, the duo returns again with Kites, though this time Roshan senior is only producing. Anurag Basu of Metro and Gangster fame directs the flick.

Instead of Basu’s regular music director Pritam, ‘Kites’ has the Roshans’ favourite composer Rajesh Roshan.

The movie has two versions and the English one is without any musical score. No complaints, as we are happy to get our own desi version, coz any commercial Hindi movie is incomplete without songs. Let’s check out how good is the music album of ‘Kites’.

Zindagi Do Pal Ki has already started doing rounds on the small screen as the main promotional track. To be frank, it doesn’t entice your auditory senses at one go. But the song, so much a typical Rajesh Roshan melody, won’t take too long to settle in your heart. Singer Kay Kay brings out the best in the melody through his naturally passionate singing. DJ A-Myth’s simple remix of the song is not hard on the ears.

Imagine a long drive, a picturesque surrounding and a never-ending road; listening to Dil Kyun Ye Mera will give you such a feel. Nasir Faraaz’s subtle and poetic lyrics and Kay Kay’s fantastic voice make it a must-hear song. Like the original, the remix version sounds good.

Taking off with a tinge of Hip-hop music, the song Tum Bhi Ho Wahi later sounds like a soft rock number. And since Vishal Dadlani and Suraj Jagan team up behind the microphone, it is bound to be a highly energetic number. But fails to impress us like the other songs of the film.

Kites In The Sky, the title track sung by Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne D’Mello, has an international appeal to it with brooding, wistful feel and light music. Must say, Hrithik, just like his persona, impresses us with his vocals too. The remix version isn’t as edgy as the original but is in sync with the romantic fervor of the album.

As the movie is about two lovers and their fight to keep the flame alive beyond the borders of cultural distinctions, the song Fire truly explores the blazing emotions. Anirudh Bhola and Anushka Manchanda’s fiery rendition is a welcome bump in the romantic flow of the album.

With the release of the music of ‘Kites’, T-series and Big Pictures roadblocked 40 television channels to promote its music at the prime time. The makers are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of the movie, and music plays a major role in it. But as one expects it to be extraordinary or mind-blowing, ‘Kites’ musical score fails to match up with expectations.

However, you can sure enjoy the breezy, dreamy songs.

Sach ka Saamna gets the axe

The truth train has derailed. Despite all the shock and awe it generated, Star Plus’ bold reality show Sach Ka Saamna is coming to a rather abrupt end on September 18.

End of the line?
Says Rajeev Khandelwal, who won accolades as the host of the show, “I’m a little upset. I will miss the show, the team and, of course, the contestants. I didn’t even realise when I completed my contract of 50 episodes. If they plan a sequel to the show and decide to hire me again, I am game.”

However, the second season seems difficult right now, given the negative feedback surrounding the show. Says Siddhartha Basu, the brain behind the Indian version of the Moment of Truth, “It was a serious game show which had its own steady viewership. It wasn’t everybody’s cup of tea. The first season was like a testing ground, which turned out well. For the sequel, we need to talk it out with the channel bosses.”

However, senior creative director, Anupama Mandloi, insists that a season is “absolutely possible” and adds, “We could have extended it, but felt it was better to close as planned as it left the viewers asking for more.”

Life changing
Participants on the show are unanimous that it was a big leap for reality TV in India. Says Lakshmi Narayan, “For me it helped break a lot of stereotypes associated with eunuchs and also furthered my cause. The show was a reality check on the hypocrisy in our society.”

Bobby Darling adds, “It helped me improve my relations with my dad. People made fun of me earlier, but after seeing me on the show, their attitude changed.”

BIOGRAPHY OF LATA MANGESHKAR

Lata Mangeshkar is India’s most well known playback singer. She has sung in all the major Indian languages and is one of the most recorded artists in the world.
Childhood
Lata Mangeshkar was born in on September 28, 1929 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh into a Maharashtrian Brahmin household. Her father was Dinanath Mangeshkar and her mother was named Shudhmati.

Lata was the oldest of several children. She had a younger brother named Hridayanath Mangeshkar, as well as three younger sisters named Asha (Bhosle), Usha and Meena. (Of these Asha Bhosle would grow up to rival Lata in the world of film music.)

Her exposure to music began in infancy. Her father Dinanath was an accompanied classical vocalist and was very active in the theatre. It is said that Lata made her acting debut at the age of five in a play in which her father was participating.

Lata’s musical studies were not limited to hearing her father sing. She also studied under Aman Ali Khan, and later under Amanat Khan, and acquired a good background in classical music.

Early Career
Lata’s early film career was characterized by numerous changes in direction, false starts, and a general unsteadiness. It was not at all clear that she was destined to be a successful singer.

1942 proved to be a very crucial year in her life. This was the year that the film “Kit Haaal” was release. This was the first film that Lata recorded for; unfortunately her song would be cut and not make it to the finished version. More traumatically for the young Lata, is that this was the year that her father died of a heart attack.

Lata was only 13 years old when her father died, but as the oldest child, responsibility fell upon her to help take care of her families financial needs. She took to acting in small films in order to do this. Her first appearance was a very small role in Pahili Mangalagaur (1942). Later she acted in such films as "Maajhe Baal" (1944), "Chimukla Sansar" (1943), "Gajabhau" (1944), "Jeevan Yatra" (1946), "Chhatrapati Shivaji" (1952), "Badi Maa" (1945).

The period in the early 40's did not look promising for Lata. Her thin voice was very different from the heavier voice quality that was in vogue (e.g., Noor Jahan). She received numerous rejections. It was not until 1947 that she was able to get a toehold in the industry by singing “Pa Lagoon Kar Jori Re” in the film “Aap ke Sewa Main” (1947). Lata sang several songs in other films over the next few years, but her first big hit was in 1949 with “Aayega Aanewaala”.

There is no doubt that the partition played a role in Lata’s rise to fame. During the partition, there was a disruption when many directors, producers and artists left Bombay, while others migrated to India from Lahore. One of the most notable artists to leave India, was Noor Jahan, who was the undisputed queen of the filmsong at the time. This disruption opened the doors to Lata in an industry that previously may have been harder to get into.

As the 1950’s began, Lata was firmly established as a film singer. Music directors she sang for included such greats as Shankar-Jaikishan, and Anil Biswas. During this period, “Mahal”, “Barsaat”, “Ek Thi Ladki” and “Badi Bahen” were just some of the famous films that used her voice.

Lata’s Peak
The next three decades would see Lata Mangeshkar reign as the undisputed queen of the Hindi film song. She sang with almost all of the major music directors, and acquired a considerable clout in the politics of the film industry.

It is pointless to try and enumerate the songs that she did; however, there are a few songs which stand out. In particular “O Sajna Barkha Bahaar Aayee” from Parakh (1960), “Aaja re Pardesi” from Madhumati (1958), “Itna na Mujhse Tu Pyaar Badhaa” from Chhaya (1961), “Allah Tero Naam” from “Hum Dono” (1961), “Ehsaan Tera Hoga Mujh par” from “Junglee” (1961), and “Yeh Sama” from “Jab Jab Phool Khile” (1965), seem particularly notable.

Lata also worked with most of the major music directors in this period. Her work with, both S.D. Burman and R.D. Burman were very fruitful. She also worked with, Shankar /Jaikishan, Salil Chowdhury, Naushad and a host of others. It is often said that her best work came with her songs for Madan Mohan and C. Ramchandra. It is interesting to note that O.P. Nayyar was one of the few major music directors to not utilize her talents.

However Lata’s reign was not always a smooth one. There was the well known professional rivalry with her sister Asha Bhosle. For some years she would not sing with Mohd. Rafi due to a long standing dispute over royalties. For some years she would not work with the music director S.D. Burman. During the peak of her career, she had a tremendous political clout within the film industry and is known to have exercised this freely.

Lata’s Decline
All things come to and end, and Lata’s professional career was no exception. Over the decades, the actresses for whom she was singing became younger, and Lata was growing older. It was inevitable that at some point it was no longer going to be a workable match.

We cannot pinpoint a time where her career started to decline. However by 1980 it was clear that it was not a necessity to have Lata sing for a film. Furthermore, there was a change in the style of the new songs. Emerging music directors such as A.R. Rahman just did not see Lata’s voice as fitting into their approach to creating music (although Lata did lend her voice for some of his work). The result of all of this was that Lata Mangeshkar gradually moved from the peak of her career into today’s state of semiretirement.

Never-the-less, this period shows some of Lata’s most interesting work.
Songs such as “Sun Sahiba Sun” ("Teri Ganga Maili" - 1986), “Yaara Seeli Seeli” ("Lekin" - 1990), even today stand our as some of her most memorable work.

Kumar Sanu is one of the most popular playback singers of Bollywood. He holds the Guinness Book world record for recording the maximum number of songs in a day, which are 28. He was born on 23rd September, 1957 and was named Kedernath Bhattacharjee. His father, Pashupati Bhattacharjee was a renowned classical singer and composer who noticed his son's talent at a very young age. When he was still very young, his father trained him to sing classical music and play the tabla. Given here is a small biography which captures the life history of Kumar Sanu.

Kumar Sanu graduated in commerce from Calcutta University and then started giving public performances at small shows and restaurants in Calcutta itself. His style of singing was greatly influenced by the legendary Kishore Kumar. He badly wanted to become a playback singer but the competition in the Indian film is more than just fierce; it is ruthless. It took several years and a lot of struggle before Kumar Sanu was noticed by the great Jagjit Singh. He offered Kumar Sanu a chance to sing in the Hindi film Aandhiyan.

Kumar Sanu came to Bombay when Kalyanji - Anandji offered him to sing for the movie "Jadugar". He was then asked to adopt a different name that was much more acceptable due to caste/region preferences. Thus, he started to work under the name Kumar Sanu instead of Kedernath Bhattacharjee. This gave him a wider appeal with the masses and he did not remain restricted to the Bengali mass. His real achievement however, came in the year 1990 with the movie "Aashiqui".

The talented music directors Nadeem - Shravan gave him all but one song of the movie Aashiqui. Kumar Sanu proved himself with this opportunity and the songs took the entire nation by rage. Everyone hummed the songs that were touted as that year's biggest hits. Kumar Sanu became a star and also won his first Filmfare award as the Best Male Playback singer. He began recording for many more films and achieved much success with more and more hits. Some movies that are worth the mention are Saajan, Deewana, Baazigar, and 1942: A Love Story.

He won five Filmfare awards for five consecutive years and by the end of 1990, he had sung for hundreds of films in different languages. However, during the prime of his career, he was diagnosed with throat cancer. He was under medication after which he sang chosen songs. He cut down on singing and branched out, giving public performances and also acting in Bengali and Hindi serials. Some of his popular songs are given below.

Why television, when you are now doing Bollywood films?

Actually, I was not ready to host Sach Ka Saamna, for that matter any show. But Babu (Siddharth Basu) insisted me to go and watch the series Moment Of the Truth, and I was instantly hooked.

I found it to be really interesting. It’s challenging and exciting; when I go ahead in life and look back, I should feel happy that I didn’t do just run-of-the-mill stuff but also got personal satisfaction.

But didn’t you felt that television might overexpose you?

Yes, initially there were some reservations, as I am doing UTV’s Peter Gaya Kaam Se… the producers did not want my long hair look to be revealed. But after they saw the TV show Moment Of the Truth they agreed and gave me the green signal for the serial. My look is much wilder in the film.

On your show Sach Ka Saamna; it asks very personal questions, are you comfortable with that?

If I am uncomfortable I tell the contestants- the question I will ask makes me feel tight, so you can work out how uncomfortable it will be for you to answer.

See, I have not really worked out any character as the host; I just deal with them on human level.

It’s not easy to get up and speak the truth, so there is a certain way when I ask those questions; it’s more like a game. The gaming element comes in.

But don’t you think those questions can break real families?

Or it can bring the family close. Why do we all have this negative attitude towards truth? It’s so ironical; we all like to say- let’s speak the truth, but then a show like this happens and it’s said we are breaking families!

Should a family survive on lies, for how long will they endure? There are two ways of looking at it. Certain truths if kept inside could be fatal. I say truth is better.

Rajeev, in the promo of the show we saw a family leaving. Don’t you think it’s regressive?

I don’t think so. It’s a part of the bigger picture which will be clear in that episode. You will know why they left and after knowing the truth. This is Agnipariksha. We are not making fun of our contestants or selling someone’s secrets. I dislike regressive show, that’s why I left doing daily soaps.

Is Sach Ka Saamna same as Moment Of the Truth?

No, we adapted to Indian sensibilities and our own sanskriti. We still live in a conservative society; where things are not openly discussed. So, there is a lot of Rajeev the Indian who asks questions.

Plot 3 Kaminey (Hindi: कमीने, translation: Rascals) is a forthcoming 2009 Bollywood film that stars Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles. It is directed and written by Vishal Bharadwaj. The film began shooting at various locations across the country from June 18, 2008. The teaser trailer of Kaminey came out along with Delhi 6.
Guddu and Charlie are brothers, born and raised in Dharavi, Asia's largest slum dwelling in the heart of the megalopolis, Mumbai. They also happen to be identical twins, in early twenties, hoping to leave the squalor behind and move into a life of prosperity and dignity. But the similarity ends here. Guddu works as a trainee in a small NGO firm in the city. He hopes to climb up to the top of the corporate ladder. He wants to be a bona fide member of the burgeoning Indian middle class. His career has only just begun though and the road to bourgeoisie is both long and arduous. Yet Guddu is at it. He is honest, diligent and careful. Especially careful. Charlie makes a living hedging bets at the race course. He moves around the plush hordes of the rich and famous at the races. For him this is just a way to make quick money and he dreams of becoming a legitimate bookie one day. Charlie is street smart, wily and brave. And only for himself. The brothers don't like each other. They believe they have nothing in common, not even their speech defect. While Guddu stammers, especially when he is nervous, Charlie has a lisp. The brothers have built their lives so that their paths don't ever cross. They believe it's only a question of time before they are out of each other's sight forever. All that is about to change. In one day. A day of reckoning. An unusual day; just right for the unusual events that unfold in its course. Charlie is having a bad day at the office. Mumbai, July 8 (IANS) John Abraham is set to get even more stylish. The actor's costumes for director Abbas Tyrewala's film "1:800 Love" are being chosen by Hollywood stylist Suzie Harman in London.

The posh Suzie Harman, who dressed up Gerard Butler in Guy Ritchie's 2008 blockbuster "RocknRolla", will not only be doing the clothes for John but for the entire cast of the film that will be shot in London.

Though Abbas, who made the hit "Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na", refused to divulge any details, producer Madhu Mantena confirmed that the international stylist has been roped in.

"Yes, Suzie Harman is on board. How we got her is another story. All the crew of '1:800 Love' barring the cinematographer is from London," Mantena said.

Suzie Harman, who has done the entire styling for more than a dozen top British and American films, has been shopping at London's pricey Harrod's store for John. And she has pulled out all stops in getting the right clothes.

"My director Abbas has no hair to tear. But I'm about to go bald worrying about the clothes budget. And it's not just John," Mantena added. "She's dressing up the entire cast...all the characters including the leading lady Pakhi (Tyrewala) and, of course, John."

Apparently the clothes budget for Abbas' film has already shot up three times over. But the producer is not complaining.

"I trust Abbas' judgement completely. And yes it looks like the film will be much costlier than I thought. But good things don't come cheap."

The fresh-faced and utterly natural Anushka Sharma who danced her way into victory with Shah Rukh Khan in Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana De Jodi won't be seen in another film for quite a while.

She's under contract with Yashraj who aren't starting another film with her in a hurry.

"Yes, I'm under contract to do two more films with Yashraj, " Anushka informs softly. She also admits the next film is not around the corner.

"Adi has been very busy with Rab Ne…and so was I. Now we'll sit together to decide what to do next. But I'm in no hurry. They'll have to decide what I'm doing next. I realize I love the process of acting. I'm also itching to get back in front of the camera."

There's also talk that Anushka was kept away from media attention much too long. "Yashraj looked after me very well through the making of Rab. They did keep me out of the limelight. But that served my purpose. Because I wanted to focus completely on my first film."

The best compliment Anushka received for her performance came fron Yash Chopra. "He came up to me and said mine was one of the best performances he had seen by a debutant. He placed his hand on my head while saying this. So he was blessing me."

She was also not presented with the poise finesse and sophistication associated with the typical Yashraj heroine.

Anusha defends the banner stoutly. "You're right. Even when girls are presented as seedhi-saadhi in a Yashraj film she's glamorous. And coming from a glam background I wouldn't have minded being glossy in my first film. But you know what?

This was such a huge opportunity. I couldn't have asked for more. I fell in love with my character and the film. It's a dream role for any debutante. I can always get into a chiffon saris in the next Yashraj film. Or the one after that…."

It's interesting how Anushka got Rab Ne Bana De Jodi. "I was auditioned and short-listed. Then Adi auditioned me personally and I was on."

Ask her how she managed to be so natural in her first film and Anushka laughs, "All the while I was modeling in Bangalore. Maybe there was an actor lurking within me. I'm crazy about my modeling work.

I love the ramp and the backstage banter. I moved to Mumbai a year ago. Movies were not a priority. I don't come from a film background, don't know how the industry works. I didn't know anyone here."

But Anushka was alwaya a huge Shah Rukh fan. "My dad is in the army and when they would've these functions in the mess I'd dance to Shah Rukh's Kitabe bahut si padhi hogi from Baazigar. I must've been 3 at that time.

I wasn't just Shah Rukh's fan. I'm his trueblue admirer. I always loved the way he conducted himself. Now after having worked with him I love him even more. Rab Ne ….was like my school where Shah Rukh and Adi were my teachers."

However Anushka wasn't over-instructed. "Adi never told me what to do beyond a point. In fact he gave me the liberty to interpret my character how I wanted after making me read the lines. Imagine a newcomer getting so much freedom in her first film!

I must have given my DOP Mr Ravi Chandran so much grief. I knew nothing about camera angles. I didn't even understand focus marks. Shah Rukh was doing that for me.

Adi and Shah Rukh made things so comfortable for me. These things matter a lot when you're starting out."

Anushka didn't have to make a strenuous effort to act. "Even modeling is a kind of performance. On the ramp you are representing a concept. In a film you're projecting an individual.

But the transition wasn't hard for me. Because in real life I'm as simple as the girl I play in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.Yes, I do like to dress up and walk the ramp. But that isn't the real me."

Anushka was lucky to be brought up in Bangalore. "Otherwise army officers who give their lives for the country (and I'm proud to be born to a soldier) could be posted anywhere in the back of the beyond. That gets really tough on their kids. Me and My brother (who used to be a state-level cricketer) got the best of education in Bangalore."

Mumbai is now Anushka's home. "I kept coming to Mumbai for modeling assignments. I decided to move into Mumbai a year ago with my mom, since my dad is posted out. I haven't bought my place. Right now I'm very comfortable in the army quarters. I don't feel the need to move from where I am."

Jolie's jackpot came mostly from last year's "Wanted" but also from a hefty advance for next year's thriller Salt, in which she plays a CIA agent accused of being a Russian spy.

At that time he was not used to listen any kind of songs. At the age of 9 in 1991 he was shifted to Rawalpindi/Islamabad where he continued his studies in Saint Paul’s School. He started playing Basketball and he use to lead his school team for various matches. Atif came back to Lahore in 1995 where he continued his studies in Divisional Public School Model Town. For his immense passion for cricket he was selected in his school team as a fast bowler. Atif cleared his 10th grade in 14 years of age with a distinctive edge that he has always been the youngest boy in the class because of his double promotions while he was in Kimberley Hall. Atif started his HSc in PAF College Lahore. He was in his college team as well where he presented his college in other cities. Beside his studies he was putting his maximum time in practicing for the professional cricket. During his college life he come across with some interest in music. He attended Punjab Institute of Computer Science (PICS) to do his Bachelors in Computer Science (BCS). Aslam’s eldest brother owned a collection of more than 8,000 songs of almost all music genres, from which Atif absorbed a wide range of music at home. As a good learner he quickly grasped the control of voice, though at that time he was not interested in singing. Aslam’s passion was still to enter the Pakistani cricket team as a fast bowler and he was right on track while practicing at the net at the Shapes Club Lahore where Imran Khan used to come and give tips to him for bowling.
Start of Musical Career
The twist in the story comes when one day he was singing with his friends at the college canteen. His friends insisted him to participate in the singing on Independence Day celebrations at PAF College Lahore and Sargodha in 1998. He performed there and won the competition. After HSc, Atif Joined Punjab Institute of Computer Science Gulberg Campus. This time studies were much more demanding as compared to the previous ones. He was forced to sacrifice his time playing cricket in order to do well in school. However, his hobby of singing continued when he entered in the singing competition of his college, where there were a total of 8 participants. The media team entered Atif’s name in the competition at the eleventh hour and he won the competition singing a hit number of Pakistani band Strings’ Duur. Jal The Band
Aslam kept winning these competitions every semester until he announced that he would not participate in future competitions so that someone else could also win. He found Goher Mumtaz, a talented guitarist, at this time. Together, they started doing mini concerts for their friends. Atif used to primarily sing songs from Junoon and Strings song at these concerts. The size of the audiences kept on increasing. They performed concerts for their college, McDonalds and some other restaurants as well. Atif recorded the legendary song Aadat at Mekal Hassan’s Studio. Mekal injected his professionalism in the song to make it worth listening time after time. Atif formed the band and named the band as Jal, which means water, the essence of life. The song got popularity on the different musical websites on Pakistan. . The song was also played on such Pakistani radio stations as FM100 and FM105. The music video for Aadat was shot one day in a warehouse in Karachi. Soon it came out to be a super hit, topping the Pakistani music charts. On the base of this one song, “Jal” began their tour of Pakistan—such was the strength of “Aadat”. However, whilst on tour, personal problems led to a verbal bust-up resulting in an unannounced and indefinite hiatus, during which Atif launched his solo career.
Jal Pari
Atif Aslam, after leaving Jal, released a new solo album, Jal Pari (meaning “Mermaid”) which was a big hit. Other than Aadat, ‘Dil Harey’, ‘Woh Lamhey’, ‘Yakeen’ became favourites of Pakistani music fans. Though his songs were liked by many, his first solo music video of ‘Mahi ve’ did not received much praise. On the other hand Jal, with their album “Aadat” and hit music video “Woh Lamhay” emerged as one of the top bands of Pakistan. As both the Jal, “Aadat”, and Atif’s album, Jalpari, shared certain tracks (such as “Aadat”, “Wo Lamhey”, “Dil Harey”) an unofficial war over rights began which resulted in both sides claiming to possess hard proof to support their respective claims (that, they alone owned the concerned songs). The hype this feud gave to both Atif and the new Jal was extraordinary and split the musical nation with the fans of each side backing their respective favourite.

Across The Border
Whilst the drama of lyrics & composition ownership continued in Pakistan, Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt called Atif Aslam to seek his consent to include “Woh Lamhey” in the soundtrack of his new motion picture, Zeher (2005). The song (especially the remix version) became a hit & dominated airplay on almost all major FM stations throughout India for a period of 6-8 months. This pattern of a slow playback song by Atif in the movie, supplemented by a remix version released for radio airplay was to become standard procedure with Atif’s songs on the Indian market.

He recorded a song for the movie Kalyug (2005), entitled Juda Hokey Bhi - a slight variation of the ever famous Aadat song. Like with “Wo Lamhey / Bheegi Yaadein”, a slow version became the theme for the movie and part of the official soundtrack, whilst a remixed version was released to hit the radio stations and desi clubs worldwide.

After recording for Kalyug, an Irani director in Hollywood contacted Atif and within very little time, Atif recorded three songs for that same director’s Hollywood movie, Man Push Cart and was rewarded with a small cameo role in the movie.

Atif re-emerged in the subcontinent with a new track, “Tere Bin” (translation: [Without You]) for the Bollywood Movie, Bas Ek Pal (2006). The song “Tere Bin” became a hit in India and Pakistan.

Doorie
In December 2006, Atif Aslam released his much anticipated album called “Doorie” along with the video of the title song “Doorie” in India and Pakistan. Some of the songs in the album include “Hum kis galli”, “Maula”, “O re piya”. The album was produced in collaboration with Indian lyricists and composers. A month later the video of “Hum kis galli” was released. Like the video of “Doorie”, it was shot in India. The album is a huge hit in both countries, especially India.

Hungaami Halaat
The Bollywood style of music and videos in “Doorie” has diappointed many of Atif’s fans in Pakistan who had been liking Atif for his “Jal Pari” style songs. About this Atif said “Touring internationally made me think that I should take my music global by releasing it worldwide. I collaborated with a lot of people and thought up a plan for a commercial album, which is not my type of music; which is not ATIF. I just wanted to explore that side of the music. When I composed and wrote these songs for Doorie, I kept in mind that this album has to be commercial”. He also told that he would soon be releasing an album named “Hangami Halaat” which would be an original ‘atif style’ album. Regarding his videos he says “I think that was a requirement because the Indian audience can never accept my ’stupid’ ‘Mahi Vey’ video or my ’stupid’ ‘Rangoun Mein’ video. They have a different concept about a pop or a rock icon. He has to be a heart throb. Girls here can’t sit on motor bikes, in India girls ride them. It’s a different culture altogether. They (my Indian videos) are for an international audience.”

Controversies
Controversies began surrounding Atif from the beginning of his solo career. Many of Atif’s critics accused him of stealing songs from former band mate Gohar Mumtaz. Both Atif and Gohar laid claim on songs like “Aadat”, “Dil Harey”, “Woh Lamhey” and “Zindagi”. Still noone knows whose creations actually these songs are.

It should have been the opportunity of a lifetime for a Michael Jackson fan: a behind-the-scenes invitation to a rehearsal for the superstar's upcoming concert tour in the United Kingdom.

But when the fan got to the stage, she was horrified. "He is a skeleton," she wrote Monday in an email to other Jackson fans. Worse, she said, was seeing her idol surrounded by people she deemed too frightened to say anything. "I have to say: He may die."

Three days later, Jackson, 50, collapsed in his rented Holmby Hills mansion – with his personal physician on the premises. His heart stopped; he wasn't breathing. An ambulance raced him to a hospital just minutes away from his house, but despite another hour of frantic resuscitation efforts, the world had lost one of the most successful artists in music history. The Los Angeles County Coroner will conduct an autopsy, with some results expected as early as Friday, although the findings of other possible tests could take longer.

Some in the entertainment world are utterly shocked at the sudden demise of seasoned entertainer who was, by all accounts, focused on one thing alone: getting ready for a series of 10 comeback shows at London's 02 Arena set to launch next month. Jackson rehearsed at the Staples Center on June 24 in Los Angeles, the day before with "great energy," Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich tells PEOPLE. "He wasn't giving it full out. But vocally he had started to really project. I thought he was in great form," who was at the rehearsal.

Jackson had even signed on The Incredible Hulk's Lou Ferrigno as his personal trainer, although the two hadn't worked out together in two weeks.

Yet while many in the entertainment world expressed sadness and shock, a different, more unsettling reaction came from several people close to Jackson and his family, who describe Jackson as unavoidably thin and fragile.

Filmmaker Bryan Michael Stoller, who visited Jackson in April, was shocked by his weight loss. "I hugged him and it was like hugging bones," he tells PEOPLE. "After seeing him, I never thought he would complete the tour."

Says Dr. Firpo Carr, a friend and confidante of Jackson's, "I sensed something was wrong and, quite honestly, I wasn't terribly surprised when I got the news. I would get word from people in his camp that things weren't quite right."

A source close to the singer who didn't want to be identified adds: "Michael hasn't been feeling well. All last week he'd stopped coming out of his house to see his fans. He was doing that every day."

As part of his preparations for the high-stakes UK concert tour, Jackson had been training – hard. He has put in 10-hour rehearsals, a witness says, for the sort of stage spectacle fans had come to expect. Promoters insisted the 50-year-old entertainer was physically ready for the rigors of a full tour. But there was concern among some in his inner circle that Jackson might push too hard: "They didn't want him to overtax himself," family friend Kevin McLin tells PEOPLE. "You look back in history, he never completed all the dates of his shows because he gave so much in each performance – he would go non-stop for two hours."

And on Thursday, even before UCLA doctors declared Jackson dead, family attorney Brian Oxman, who huddled with the grieving family at the hospital, raised the specter of possible abuse of drugs prescribed for the singer's long history of physical ailments. "If you think that the case of Anna Nicole Smith was an abuse, it is nothing in comparison to what we have seen in Michael Jackson's life," Oxman told CNN.

According to the fan at Jackson's rehearsal who tried to raise the alarm among those who adored him, the combination of risk factors seemed dangerously close to claiming its victim.

"We all love Michael really much. We all want to see his shows. We all think about how we will be [in the] first row," the fan wrote earlier in the week. "How will you do all of these things if during the third concert he faints on stage, and if his heart stops during his way to the hospital? How will you feel when you will talk with other fans and will say: We knew he was too skinny to perform?"

That does not mean that you have to backslap your co-stars, not at all. But with actors my age, our mentality is the same. There’s the ‘been there, done that’ element with the seniors. The whole Bollywood was shocked by Ashutosh’s comments, he said the same about Rock On at Star Screen Awards 2009 earlier this year and now his outburst against his next leading lady Priyanka Chopra.However Jaya Bachchan is supporting Ashutosh’s outburst, clearly stating that Ash deserved the award.

Jaya Bachchan’s name was mentioned by Ashutosh during the outburst, to which Jaya replies, First of all it is being presumed that Ashutosh unnecessarily mentioned my name regarding Aishwarya’s omission from the awards. The fact is, I suggested he bring up the question on stage at IIFA. We were discussing why Aishwarya has not been given any award for Jodhaa-Akbar and I suggested Ashutosh bring up the matter. For all I know she must be really good in Fashion. I haven’t seen it. But I’ve seen Priyanka’s work in Dostana and liked it. She’s undoubtedly a good actress. I don’t have any objection to her winning the award at IIFA. But I wonder why Aishwarya’s fine performance was ignored. I think she and the Jodhaa-Akbar cinematographer Kiran Deohans richly deserved recognition for their work.”

I will never do a film for money: Katrina

Petite Bollywood star Katrina Kaif said that she will never do a film for money.
The 24-year-old actress, whose earnings support her family of seven sisters, said there are times when she feels that she needs the money being offered to do a particular film.

"I am in a panic situation. But, If I succumb to such pressures, I know the audience will not respect me," Katrina said.

Looking back at her career, she said she considers her journey so far as a learning experience.

"So far, I went through a learning phase having learnt discipline from my co-stars Akshay Kumar, Govinda, Salman. They have helped me to strengthen my fundamentals," she said.

"But if you stagnate, the growth is over. I have done many comedy films. Success of films like Partner, Singh is Kinng gets you to a very wide audience reach. But for greater gains, you need to take greater gambles. If it works, you get respect and recognition," the young actress felt.

Katrina is highly optimistic of her upcoming film 'New York' releasing on June 26.

"I saw the real me in the film. When I first asked director Kabir Khan about my character, he told me that Maya is like every girl... She is you without make up and costumes. I realised that he was telling me to be myself in the film," Katrina recalled.

Kareena says no to nudity

The question was popped during the promotion of Kareena’s latest film Kambakkht Ishq. Not only did Kareena get angry, she walked out in a huff.

Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja was on Sunday detained for questioning by the police on the charge of raping his domestic help and is likely to be put under arrest.

"The domestic help, who has been working at Ahuja's residence in suburban Oshiwara, alleged that the actor had raped her today afternoon," Deputy Commissioner of Police Niket Kaushik said.

"We have registered a FIR and called Ahuja to the police station for questioning in the matter to verify the facts," he said.

The house maid in her complaint has alleged that Ahuja raped her at his residence when they were alone, Kaushik said.

Additional Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta said the maid will be subjected to medical test and police are yet to reach any conclusion with regard to the charge levied by her against Shiney.

However, the senior police official said, the actor, who is detained at the police station till well past midnight, is most likely to be arrested in the wee hours of Tuesday.

Known as an icon hero since the early 90s, he has established himself as one of the leading actors of the industry.

Two newcomers open Bollywood innings this Friday

Jackky Bhagnani and Vaishali Desai come from families with film background. Though both admit that their lineage helped in getting the Bollywood break, they know that with their first film up for release it’s the audiences who will eventually size them up.

The long lull at theatres is going to end this Friday with Kal Kissne Dekha , a romantic film with doses of action, drama and suspense. The film is seen primarily as the launch of Jackky, the son of film’s producer Vashu Bhagnani , and Vaishali, the grandniece of the late filmmaker Manmohan Desai .

Since years, both Jackky and Vaishali have been separately steering towards realizing their Bollywood dream. When Jackky was a teenager, none could have thought that a chubby boy weighing 130kg would one day be the hero of a film. But Jackky defied all odds and burnt his fat in gymnasiums to whittle away a good 60 kg. Being a producer’s son can get you a break, but it doesn’t take away fat from one’s body.

Vaishali, on the other hand, has always been the gorgeous girl she is. She began modeling at the age of 16 and participated in Miss India contest in the year 2005. Not only did she win an award for the best smile but also qualified for Miss International contest, which she sadly couldn’t win because of an ill-timed eye infection.

Though she doesn’t claim to have many memories of her illustrious grand uncle (Manmohan Desai) she admits to being a fan of his films.

As ‘Kal Kissne Dekha’ is ready to release, both Jackky and Vaishali are feeling “nervous and excited”. Vaishali, who’s fiercely ambitious, has already been getting compliments from director Vivek Sharma, who called her a “one-take actor”. Jackky, on the other hand, has good wishes of many folks in the industry – from Sanjay Dutt to Kareena Kapoor .

Now, it’s up to the audiences to judge how much talent and potential the two newbies have got.

Katrina Kaif unsure of Parisian romance with Imran!

The much-talked-about onscreen Parisian romance between Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan is still tentative because the actress hasn’t yet given her nod of approval to the film.

Titled ‘7 Days in Paris’, the film will be directed by Sanjay Gadhvi whose last film Kidnap had put many a viewer to good nap. However, with ‘7 Days in Paris’, Gadhvi dabbles in romantic genre and has finalized Imran and Katrina. In fact, the two actors were learnt to have done the rehearsals together to prepare for their roles.

However, Katrina has made it clear to a tabloid that she’s not yet committed to the film, as its script is still being readied.
The buzz in B-Town is that after reading portions of the script, Imran gave some ‘creative’ suggestions to Gadhvi which led to Katrina’s role being chopped down by a considerable length and the actress is therefore having second thoughts about doing the film.

The movie will be made under the banner of Studio 18 and Katrina has a two-film deal with the production house.

Katrina admits she has good working relations with the banner but doesn’t shy away from clarifying that she will do ‘7 Days in Paris’ only after going through the final script.

Gadhvi better keep that in mind.
